Bulova becomes official partner of Manchester United

The brand Bulova, one of the leaders in the manufacturing of timepieces, announced a three-year sponsorship agreement with the football club Manchester United two weeks ago. For Bulova’s Marketing Department, the partnership with the football powerhouse is a great opportunity to grow their brand internationally. To celebrate their future collaboration, an official ceremony took place at Old Trafford stadium where from now on Bulova watches are not only worn around the wrists of Manchester United team players and coaches, but will be displayed at the stadium itself and on events.

The integrated campaign is now rolling out in Europe, Asia, North America, South America and Australia. It presents a mix of global radio and television spots and print advertising in sports, lifestyle and men’s magazines.

In honor of the relationship to Manchester United, Bulova will introduce a new collection of club-branded watches at Baselworld in March 2014. The timepieces will be made out of steel, titanium or even solid 18k gold. With all those plans, Bulova is looking forward to the next few years that are expected to be the strongest the brand has ever had as exciting new watches will be released and strong sales are predicted.

Van Cleef & Arpels’ Pont des Amoureux

In 2007, Van Cleef & Arpels presented a romantic timepiece for women called “Pont des Amoureux”, which means lover’s bridge. As its name implies, it shows a French bridge going over a river in Annecy, a town which is also known as the Venice of France. This very special watch is not focusing on utility, but definitely on poetry and emotion. At first sight, you might notice artistic craftsmanship combined with jewelry components, but taking a closer look, you might as well be able to find all the tiny details that are undoubtedly made with love

But now, let’s focus on the story the watch tells us: two figures travel along the dial to display the time. The first figure is a woman with an umbrella indicating the hours; the second figure is a man holding a flower behind his back pointing to the minutes. As time passes, the two figures get closer and finally, at 12 o’clock, the two lovers meet at the center and kiss.

Even though the concept seems quite simple, it is in fact a masterpiece of engineering. Maybe this is also one of the reasons why Cleef & Arpels received numerous international awards such as the Times Square Magazine Award of Design Watch for the “Best Jewelry Watch” in 2010.

As you might now be interested in saving up one of those beautiful ladies watches for yourself, it might also be useful to know that they can be purchased for no less than $116,000.
